Project #1:

Lumberton NJ hardwood floor refinishing

This hardwood floor in Lumberton, New Jersey was about 15 years old. It was in pretty rough shape. Lots of water damage and the finish had been worn down to bare wood in many spots. Mainly because there was a big sliding door leading into the kitchen area and wet dogs and shoes over time wore the surface down. It definitely needed some attention to bring it back to it's former glory.

The hardwood floor restoration project included the kitchen, dining room, living room and foyer. The 8 inch wide red oak was sanded down to remove all the water damage. It was stained with Duraseal Medium Brown stain and then a 2 component water based finish – Basic Coatings Pure Matte – was applied. You can see the before and after photos of the project below...

Just wanted to let you know how happy we have been with our floors. My son has asthma, so the dustless claim was very important to us. The sanding TRULY was dustless. Not only in the room of installation, but there was no dust anywhere! The sheen is perfect, they look great and we get compliments all the time. Thanks for a great job, our home looks wonderful. Project #2:

Haddonfield NJ stained wood floor

Here's a great example of how staining can upgrade a very common red oak floor covered with old, yellowed polyurethane finish. Instant transormation from 80/90's look into a beautiful modern style. These hardwood floors in Haddonfield weren't in too bad shape, just a few scratches and regular wear and tear. But the owner wanted to bring them into the 21st century.

BEFORE Yellowed and Scratched Old Floor
AFTER After staining and refinishing

We sanded, stained and refinished all the hardwood in the kitchen, dining room, family room, bedrooms and hallways. The owners chose a custom stain blend. 75% Antique Brown and 25% True Black from Duraseal. Going with the modern theme, they decided on Basic Coating's Pure Matte for a low sheen finish. The floors turned out great as you can see in the pics below...

Project #3:

Cherry Hill NJ custom hexigon installation

Custom hexagon tile and hardwood floors are very popular at the moment. They are unique, fun and quite challenging to do properly. So when a local New Jersey builder called us and asked us if we could do one for him, how could we say no.

BEFORE Cherry Hill hexagon install
AFTER Cherry hill after hexagon install

We usually don't do many new hardwood floor installs. But we really enjoyed the break from sanding and refinishing while we did this project. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work laying out a floor like this. We used a laser to keep the hexigon shapes accurate and in line. Special sealer was used on the sub-floor as a moisture barrier, before gluing and nailing it down. The hexigon tile and wood section is through the kitchen and dining room. The rest of the floor through the house is just the 5 inch live sawn white oak. Below are photos of the installation...

We will post the second phase of the project soon when we return to sand and refinish them. We will be using a hardwax oil called Rubio Monocoat. The owner has chosen the white color. It's going to look great in contrast to the grey tiles.

Owning a home can be overwhelming with all the upkeep/repairs and I feel like you never get what you expect and it's hard to trust people, but working with you has sincerely been a pleasure! We are very happy with the floors! I can't believe how clean the entire job was from beginning to end. And Brian and Ethan were very courteous and professional. The floors look amazing! I will definitely refer you to all my family and friends! Sandi Ruple | Cherry Hill, NJ
Project #4:

Medford NJ sand, stain and refinish

This hardwood floor project was in Medford NJ. The owner had been doing some big renovations, including upgrading the kitchen and dining room. He had installed new wood floors in the dining room and laced them in to the existing wood floors in the kitchen. A large fireplace hearth in the living room was removed as well.

After he did the repairs and installed the new flooring, he called us in to sand, stain and refinish them for him. We sanded the kitchen area, as well as the family room, living room, 3 bedrooms, hallways and staircase. The floors were stained Duraseal Expresso. Project #5:

Mt Laurel NJ pet stained floors

This project was quite a big transformation. The Mt Laurel house had wood floors covered in old carpet. Unfortunately prior pets had been using the carpet as their toilet for many, many years. So when they were ripped up, the photos below show the condition the floors were in. Lots of pet stain damage.

BEFORE Cherry Hill red oak floor before
AFTER Cherry hill red oak floor after

The urine stains had turned parts of the floor black. It was all through the house. The living room was the worse damage. But the dining room, family room, hallway and steps were in bad shape as well. The owners had 2 choices: replace the damaged areas or try to mute them by staining the floor a darker color. They decided to go with the more affordable option and stain the floors. We used Duraseal Spice Brown. Below you can see the results...

If you have hardwood floors with similar stains, either from pets or plants, then you also have a choice of either removing the damage and replacing the boards, or muting them as much as possible with a dark stain. We leave that choice up to you. Replacing the boards can be expensive depending if there is a big amount of damage like the floor above. But if there is only a small amount of damage, it is definitely the best option as the damage will be removed 100%. Staining is cheaper, but it's not guaranteed the entire stain will disappear – as you can see in the photos above.
